Gala Today
How we work
Our editorial standards: how we choose stories, how we verify information and what we never publish.
From front page to story
- Monitoring. Throughout the day we review the front pages of major newspapers in the UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany, along with official sources such as public gazettes and central banks.
- Selection. We choose by interest to the reader, not by noise. A story present in several countries carries more weight than one seen in only one. If we have already told it, we return only when there is a new fact.
- Verification. Front pages alert us to what is happening, but they are not our evidence. We turn to open and, whenever they exist, primary sources: documents, official data and results.
- Writing. Each piece is written from scratch, with its own angle and context. The English and Spanish versions are adapted to each reader and keep the facts, figures and quotes identical.
- Editorial check. Before publication, each piece is reviewed for facts, sources, similarity to other texts, legal risks and images. Whatever fails is not published.
Artificial intelligence and editorial responsibility
We use artificial intelligence to produce our pieces, under human editorial supervision, and we say so on each public-interest text. NoWing Media holds editorial responsibility for what we publish: you can reach us through Contact.
Our standards
Accuracy
A significant claim needs two independent sources or one primary source. We cite official sources, attribute statements and anything reported by only one outlet, use absolute dates and state clearly what remains unconfirmed.
News, analysis and opinion
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| News | What happened, without value judgements. |
| Analysis | Why it is happening and what may follow, reasoned and backed by data. |
| Opinion | An argued position built on established facts. |
Balance
In political coverage we give the version of every party involved, in the same tone. We never ask for votes or ridicule anyone for their ideology.
Independence
Our editorial decisions do not depend on advertisers. Sponsored content, should it ever exist, will be unmistakably labelled.
Respect for people
We apply the presumption of innocence. We do not identify minors or victims of sexual or gender-based violence, publish private data or dwell on morbid detail. On health, we rely on official health sources or peer-reviewed studies and give no medical advice. On the economy we inform, but we never recommend buying or selling any asset.
Sources and copyright
We respect the work of other media. Facts are checked and told in our own words; quotes are short and attributed, and exclusives are credited to whoever published them. We do not circumvent paywalls.
Images
We use openly licensed photographs, with author and licence shown, or our own illustrations, identified as such. An archive photo is never presented as if taken at the event being reported.
